Governor Newsom vetoed SB 1180 on September 20, 2026. It would have set rules for spending the California Plastic Pollution Mitigation Fund. The PRO’s $500 million a year payment into the fund from 2027 comes from SB 54 and is unaffected. AB 2253 was still undecided on September 20.
